Becoming a Team Manager

Accredited team managers are required for all national and state representative teams.  Like coaches, team managers play an integral part in any team.  The duties of the team manager includes organiser, coordinator, negotiator, first aid, motivator, food and hydration specialist, listener, support person and fundraising coordinator, just to name a few.

The course gives a basic overview of the key responsibilities and requires the participant to access a variety of rules and regulations within TBA's Policies and Procedures to familiarise themselves with the most common rules and issues.

Minimum Requirements

   Candidates must be at least 17 years of age
   Candidates must hold a current TBA Sports Registration
   Candidates must hold a current HLTAID003 Provide First Aid certificate
   Candidates must hold a current Working with Children check from their state of residence.

Team Manager Accreditation Check List

The Accreditation process for Team Managers is :

Register or login to the ASADA Learning Portal

  • Enrol and complete Level 1 - Anti Doping Course

Register or login to the Play by the Rules eLearning Portal

  •  Enrol and complete Play by the Rules Child Protection
  •  Enrol and complete Play by the Rules Harassment & Discrimination

Complete First Aid Training Courses (must have completed the 2 components below as a minimum)

  • HLTAID001 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation (12 month validity)
  • HLTAID003 Provide first aid (3 year validity)

TBA specific Team Managers Course* Component

   Case Studies
   Multiple Choice Exams

Enrollment Process

   Complete the:
     o  Team Manager Application Form
     o  Coach / Official Code of Behaviour Individual Agreement (included in registration form)
     o  Personal Character Declaration for Coaches and Officials (included in registration form)
   Make payment (credit card or proof of bank transfer)
   2 suitable photos:
     o  Head and shoulders included in the photo
     o  No other people visible in the photo
     o  Single coloured background
     o  You can smile
     o  High quality photo (sent via post) or jpeg (sent via email)

Forward the above mentioned ASADA, ASC & First Aid completion certificates, completed forms and photos to TBA.
